POSITION: GROUNDSKEEPER
DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY:
A Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces, ensuring they are clean, safe, and visually appealing through various landscaping and maintenance tasks. This position is physically demanding and requires a combination of technical skills and a passion for landscaping.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must qualify for a gaming license

• Cannot be convicted of a felony
• Must have a valid driver license
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must have experience planting and caring for shrubs, trees, flowers, grass, ground covers
• Must have knowledge of principles of plant growth and the relationship of plants to their environment
• Must have knowledge of plant pests and diseases and their control
• Must have experience in using groundskeeping tools and equipment
• Must have principal knowledge of safety practices using tools and landscaping equipment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keep parking area and outside grounds surrounding casino clean and safe
• Responsible for clearing seaweed and debris from the beach surrounding the casino
• Work with all types of native and introduced plant materials including trees, shrubs, turf grasses, ground covers and ornamentals
• Responsible for landscaping in compliance with Havasu Landing Casino as directed by management
• Responsible for landscape problems such as poor drainage, soil erosion, soil compaction, high acidity, alkalinity, etc.
• Operate all types of grounds keeping equipment necessary to fulfill daily tasks
• All duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to five (5) hours in length
• Must be able to frequently reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach above shoulders frequently and repetitively

• Requires lifting and moving of up to 75 pounds when lifting trash bags and groundskeeping equipment as well as when assisting maintenance personnel with maintenance tasks
• This position requires the use of ladders and stepladders
• This position requires the ability to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees
